Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Caveno collects, uses, shares, and retains information when you use our website, web application, beta request flow, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect information you provide directly, including email address, password and authentication credentials, name and notes submitted through beta request or invite flows, profile, household, budgeting, and planning information, support requests, and other communications.

If you use Caveno's financial organization features, we may store manual account information, linked account information, balances, transactions, merchants, payees, categories, memos, tags, split details, budgeting, envelope, planning, debt, funding, paycheck, side-income information, export activity, and related metadata.

If you connect outside financial accounts, we may receive information from third-party providers such as Plaid and Teller, and from your financial institutions through those providers. We may also automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, log data, request metadata, timestamps, cookie or session information, diagnostics, telemetry, and audit/security records.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service; authenticate users and secure accounts; process beta requests, invitations, and household access; import, organize, display, calculate, and export financial information; troubleshoot errors; monitor performance; protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; communicate with you; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our Terms.

3. How We Share Information

We may share information with service providers and infrastructure partners that help operate the Service, financial data providers such as Plaid and Teller when you use linked account features, other authorized household members based on the product's design, and parties involved in legal, security, fraud prevention, or business transfer circumstances.

4. Cookies, Sessions, and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, session tools, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, secure the Service, maintain sessions, and support core application functionality. We may also use technical telemetry or monitoring tools for performance and troubleshooting.

5. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and support legitimate operational needs. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason we hold it.

6. Account Deletion and Reactivation Window

Caveno may offer an account deletion request process. Based on the current product design, deletion may involve a short pending-deletion or reactivation window before final processing rather than immediate removal. During that window, certain information may remain recoverable to support reactivation, security, and operational integrity.

Even after final processing, some records may be retained where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, audits, backups, or dispute resolution, subject to applicable law.

7. Data Exports

Caveno may allow users to export certain account or household data. Exported files are controlled by the user once downloaded. You are responsible for storing and protecting any exported files you choose to keep. We do not guarantee that export functionality will always be available or error-free.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information handled by the Service. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not reuse passwords, and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

9. Children's Privacy

Caveno is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

10. Your Choices and Requests

Depending on applicable law and product functionality, you may be able to access or update account information, request account deletion, export certain information, or contact us with privacy-related questions or requests. To make a request, contact support@usecaveno.com.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service may link to or integrate with third-party products, services, and websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review the policies of providers such as Plaid and Teller if you use those features.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Service, by email, or by other reasonable means. Continued use after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the revised policy.
